Yea, I've run into that problem. I just wish they could shorten the Recharge on Diversion (I KNOW i could use Mantra of Recovery, but I don't want to ).

Also, the only reasonable solution IF they were to nerf them would be to take a page out of the IWAY nerf. Increase recharge by 4 seconds (double it) and reduce the life steal slightly (not as much as vamp gaze). This is of course IF they HAD to change it.

Touch rangers arent a problem. They arent exactly a broken build. Hell i never use one and have never had a problem beating one. Dom mesmers wit backfire and/or blackout beats it. E denial beats it. Not taht hard to beat. If u cant beat it, u must really suck.

Sigh...

Did you not use the Search Engine?

There is a already a massive Touch Ranger dicussion thread, why do we need another?

Here is the link right here, found it by seaching for "Touch Rangers":

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...=Touch+Rangers

In anycase there is nothing wrong with Touchies, I play one all the time and get killed plenty of times, most players just don't seem to know how to counter them effectively.

For example using blind skills on a Touchie is worthless!

(When did Kakumei come back? I thought she was banned!)

Anyways, ArenaNet could make many people happy by just making the Touch skills into Spells. Easy solution.

Of course, mesmers have the easiest time against a toucher.

The other classes have to run.

There are heaps of skills that counter touchers, and not enough people running them.

Diversion, snares, cripples, etc destroys them.

urm, blackout? Would that not just shut down a tough ranger entirely? Ay least giving the rest of the team time to take him/her out?

Not really. When people use that one me I use run away... but if I'm crippled, then body blocked that is easier said then done

Saying blackout counters a build isn't saying anything at all. Of course disabling all of their skills for x seconds counters it, it entirely counters everything but warriors, at the cost of energy and your own skills. Same for diversion, there are tons of builds that can't (shouldn't) do anything while it's on them.

That said, touchers aren't as damaging as warriors, and have no additional utility like knockdowns or conditions like deep wound. A single crippling anguish while under mantra of persistence will take one out for an entire fight.

Outdamage them, if you can't think of how then here's some tips.

Frenzy (does not increase life stealing so frenzy away)
Either Wild Blow or Warriors Cunning
Then you are free to use your adrenaline skills to take him down, this works well for me against one toucher.
If you get blinded you could use Plague Touch with secondary Necro... just need to use the brain a bit more.

If you can't defeat a toucher as a warrior you're doing it wrong and need to go get 16 in your weapon mastery pronto. And bring Wild Blow against their stances. Suddenly THEYRE running from YOU. I love it.

I play air spike in AB with 3 other spikers, and we just laugh as we see touch rangers comming to us, 2, 1, next target, mind you we have a good laugh vs rangers, warriors and sins as well but thats another matter.

I would also like to know if there is a Ritualist counter to touchers. I haven't been able to find one myself. I originally thought of Wailing Weapon but that doesn't affect them as touches are not attacks, besides it's not exactly going to kill them anyways. Plus I often get rushed by more than one in the arenas.
As a Ritualist I don't have any running skills in my profession, so kiting is pretty useless when they have and use the best running stances in the game. Spirits like Dissonance are so random when they target that they're pretty much not worth the effort. That's assuming I'm not dead before I've finished creating it. If however you already have a spirit army up and running (Painful Bond Rit build) it can work, but that's in a perfect world. Binding Chains is also a pretty poor counter as people are usually trying to kill the toucher not just stop him from moving around. So as soon as they take damage, there goes your advantage.

Anyways, I am at a loss. I consider myself a fairly experienced Ritualist user. Proficient with most rit builds and elites. However the only way I have been able to successfully nail touchers is by turning my Ritualist into a poor version of a mesmer (I don't get fast casting or the benefit of runes). It's getting dull running the same build over and over just to take out touchers and there really isn't much flexibility in that.

Does anyone have any builds they actually 'use' to combat touchers? (not interested in theory from people who don't 'use' Ritualists thank you very much). There are a few builds involving 2 Ritualists that can do the job, but then I'm not 2 players . Thanks in advance...

Ritualist counter would be a rit spammer with Preservation.... one on one of course. And then make warrior secondary and take painful bond + wild blow. Easy and done^^.
